Kallenia makes kaleidoscopic shorts and visual poetry. The pictures are heavy with texture — lace, glass, moss, gold leaf, refraction — because that is how feeling looks when it has a surface.

She has been a photographer since 2006 and an AI filmmaker since 2022. A mother of three, working from Iowa. Formerly an AI educator at Generaitiv. She treats contests the way some people treat a gym: a clock, a constraint, a finished piece.

“I use AI as a part of my workflow, but the end results are very uniquely me.” The models change. The voice does not.

Currently building Scrapbook, and open to direction, collaboration, and creative technology, human data, or community education roles — remote from Iowa.

A short timeline

  1. 2006

    Photography

    Started making pictures. Product shoots, long exposures, kaleidoscopic composites — an eye for texture, light, and small living things. Including a baby seagull on the Seattle–Bremerton ferry.

  2. 2021

    The inventory

    Put years of photography into the NFT boom. The work already wanted a public room.

  3. 2022

    The pivot

    August: first images with Artbreeder and DALL·E 2, for Claire Silver’s first AI art contest. Order from Chaos. A walk with her oldest son, and a new name: Kallenia D.

  4. 2023–24

    Generaitiv

    Resident AI artist and community educator. Taught prompting, workflows, and how to break a model on purpose. First AI music video. First AI short film.

  5. 2024

    Scrapbook

    Claire AI contest entry. A film about the moments that shaped her as an artist, and a product vision: share a memory without a prompt.

  6. 2025–26

    The contests as craft

    Grok Odyssey, Runway Big Ad, fal × Sequoia 72-hour, X Super Bowl, Stages, No Spoon. Short deadlines on purpose. Work in galleries from Melbourne to Zimbabwe to the Wrong Biennale.
