About Kallenia D
I became Kallenia D a few months into my exploration of AI art. One day during a walk with my oldest son, I was inspired to create a new artist identity. Discovering AI was a shift for me, and I wanted something new to reflect that.
Prior to becoming Kallenia D, I had been a long time photographer, doing product shoots and creating textural kaleidoscopic photo art. In 2021, I heard about the NFT boom, and figured I'd put my photography inventory to good use.
In August of 2022, I read about Claire Silver's AI art contest, and decided to play around with some new tools. I tried Artbreeder and DALL-E 2 and began to explore my affinity for portraiture with textural elements.
I learned how to speak the language of different models, both image and video. Trying out early video models from Kaiber and RunwayML in early 2023.
From February 2023 to October 2024, I worked as a Resident AI Artist and Community Educator for a start-up AI art / web3 platform called Generaitiv. I taught prompting tips, workflows, and helped the community to utilize each of the models.
Half the fun was learning how to break the models to discover their weak spots, or in some cases where reality bent the most.
From there, I tried out pretty much any AI tool I came across — LLMs, music, voice, fx, lip sync, edits, vibe coding, agents.
In 2023, I created both my first AI music video and AI short film. Using contests as motivation to push myself to try something new.
Now I am working freelance as an AI consultant, speaking and helping brands create AI music videos and promos. Follow along with me here and on X.
